I soon realized that if I was going to spend the rest of my life drinking bad water and eating out of the street vendors and bazaars of the third world, I’d better get used to it. Developing a natural immunity to the turistas and giardia is not an easy passage, but if you refuse to take Flagyl and antibiotics and don’t drink iodine-treated or chlorinated water, the immunity gradually happens.
